What a nice flower! Snapdragon and its features

If you are a crazy romanticist who likes running across a meadow and pick up flowers – I have a proposal for you. Stop for a while, take a closer look at some of the flowers around you and equip yourself with a herbarium because it may turn out that the most effective cosmetic is right next to you!

Today, I would like to show you Snapdragon plant, which is small flowers that grow in many backyards. This is an inconspicuous plant that comes from the Mediterranean Sea regions. It grows wild in Asia Minor, too. I bet you walked past this plant more than once in your life and you didn’t even notice it, or if you did, you probably didn’t think that it could hide such interesting beauty features. And it has plenty of them!

Hey little flower, show me what you hide inside 😉

Snapdragon is a precious source of flavonoids, essential oils, anthocyanins and mineral salts. When it comes to the seeds, these are rich in EFA – Essential Fatty Acids.

The plant’s raw material is the herb, seeds and the flower. Would you like to hear a fun fact about the plant? To be honest, I didn’t know the info myself and it surprised me a lot. It turns out that there is something like Snapdragon oil, known as Snapdragon (Antirrhinum majus) Seed Oil.

I read thousands of articles concerning this plant, its action, features and so on. Now I’m sitting here in front of my laptop wondering whether it’s worth buying Snapdragon oil. Of course, I can make the infusion myself since I can pick up the flower in a garden but I can’t press the oil myself (I wish I could).

Snapdragon oil – What are its features?

  • has strong skin purifying action,
  • has anti-inflammatory action,
  • relieves pain when used externally,
  • moisturises, nourishes and strengthens effectively.

Snapdragon oil can be also used to oil hair treatment because it contains approximately 80% fatty acids: Oleic acid (omega-9) and Linoleic acid (omega-6). As you can see, it’s a very effective oil that serves high and medium porosity hair. When I finally manage to get the oil into my hands (I haven’t find it yet even though I looked for it in every online eco-shop), I’ll tell you how Snapdragon oil affects hair!
